Being Mean
"It pains me to observe that being mean is in, while the homegrown values of service and empathy is out."
- VP Leni Robredo on the 50th Anniversary of The Philippine Medical Colleges
Let us talk "Values of service." You told us it will take 6 months of planning to fix the Yolanda housing mess. Then a presidential assistant did it in 2. The value of your service is as valuable as the brown stuff our food turns to after digesting.
Next, "empathy"... Your hometown and home region is going to be hit in the face with a storm as strong as Yolanda which killed thousands of people. Empathy, empathy, Eh-amputa, nasaan? Nandun ka sa New York smiling in the snow with all your family members and their yayas. No wonder, Naga people hate you before the elections and after the elections, I am pretty sure they are not loving you now. No, they are ashamed of you. They love you in the same amount as your empathy for them. Not one iota.
I don't think our dear Vice President can ever figure out why all this meanness is coming her way. We are just so sick of this yellow brand of cardboard values of service and hallucinatory empathy that you are trying to push down our throats again and again. At some point, we punch and kick you away from us.
So let me spell it out in a very very mean but clear way: Your value of service is shit, your empathy is fake and it pains us all to observe you. Period.
