On Capital Punishment

It is not an avenue for emotional vindictiveness but a vindication of society knowing that it has dispensed the commensurate punitive action on perpetrators of heinous crimes. Also, the possibility for parole in a life imprisonment sentence dilutes justice and diminishes the value of a case fairly won against a criminal.

What gets me so riled up is taking out plunder from crimes punishable by death which serves the legislators who are prone to committing plunder; forgiving rapists out of pity is inculcated into our socio-civic consciousness by the clergy who are prone to committing rape; repealing the death penalty law before leaving Malacañang to prevent GMA from allowing herself to be sentenced to death. The law and justice are tainted by those who have the power to write, rewrite and repeal it. BUT, we can no longer do without capital punishment.
