To Social Media Bloggers of all Colors

We are responsible critics. We thrive on data, reason, logic and evidence. Nobody is asking us not to be biased. But we do owe our readers and followers our fairness, even if we could not be objectively non-partisan. It is our responsibility to provide the temperance to their boiling sentiments. We should be the median that would bring them to their perspectives, so that their politics is not of hatred, but of conviction.

We are blessed by having a large following here in social media. While it is easy to be consumed by fame, one should be reminded of the enormous responsibility that we now have to make the political discourse healthy and fair. After all, we are no longer ordinary netizens who have the luxury to troll and bash.

We are becoming sources of news, and reproducers of ideology.

Let us use it responsibly.

And it takes a lot of self-reflection.

We are not perfect. We err. We are human.

We are just lucky we have the gifts of words and the talent to write . Now let us use it to further whatever political inclinations we have.

As King Priam once said, we may still be enemies, but even enemies deserve respect.
