Laughable

Senator De Lima's camp is claiming that the senator's impending arrest and prosecution (for her alleged involvement in narcopolitics) is self-serving because this is President Duterte's way of silencing his critics. Also, they claim that Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aquirre is a fool for presenting criminals as witnesses against De Lima.

Four points: (1) If the charge for which De Lima is going to be tried is related to illegal drugs, what kind of people will usually be mired in it and therefore could possibly become witnesses, saints? Please enlighten me. (2) De Lima has the gall to point that the justice secretary is just using criminals as witnesses to pin her down, when all that she and Senator Trillanes can present to the public as witnesses (against President Duterte) are liars and self-confessed murderers like Matobato and Lascañas? Laughable! (3) It is not accurate that the justice secretary only presented convicted criminals as witnesses. There were personnel from the Bureau of Corrections and Rafael Ragos from the National Bureau of Investigation. (4) De Lima is being silenced? If this is true, she could not have possibly had more press conferences than what our digestive systems can tolerate, can she? If this is true, she could have been dead meat by now, but she isn’t, is she?

President Duterte may be far from perfect, but if the yellow partisans’ idea of a better government to replace the current one is composed of the likes of Senator De Lima and her ilk —Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Trillanes, Butch Abad, and Dinky Soliman — h’wag na uy!
