BLAME ALL THIS MESS ON KOKO PIMENTEL'S ANEMIC LEADERSHIP AND LACK OF CHARACTER AND POLITICAL WILL.
How will the Senate shine in these crucial times, when Pimentel is pursuing an agenda that is known only to himself and his father, while the yellow minority keeps fooling around.
As president of the Senate he should have cracked the whip a long time ago against its own members using the upper house of Congress as a zarzuela and demeaning the very stature of the august body. In his style of traditional politicking, Pimentel is nothing but a back slapper trying to please everyone. He has tolerated the malicious use of committee investigations to suit the corrupt interests of malicious members of the once august body.
Take this case of Senator Trillanes resurrecting retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas who turned 180 degrees from his former testimony before the Senate committee on justice and human rights where he once swore under oath there was no such thing as a Davao Death Squad and that Mayor Rodrigo Duterte never ordered any killings.
Lascañas even called it nothing but a media hype.
This was in connection with last year’s presentation by Senators Leila de Lima and Antonio Trillanes of self-confessed alleged DDS hitman Edgar Matobato to the Senate.
Lascañas in open hearing and under oath, called Motobato a liar.
Yesterday, Lascañas told the press that then Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ordered killings and that the death squad really existed.
The very timing of this tearjerker is suspect!
De Lima was reported to be arrested yesterday, and today there have been sensational statements trying to steal the thunder of such much-awaited event by the general public expressing the seriousness of the Duterte administration in actually nailing the former secretary of justice for drug trafficking and protecting criminal syndicates during her watch.
THE HELM OF THE SENATE IS BETTER IN THE SOBER HANDS OF SENIOR STATESMAN RICHARD GORDON.
Senator Gordon told ABSCBN that he will no longer launch a new probe into the fresh allegations of retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas on the Davao Death Squad. He added that he would no longer waste the Senate’s time investigating Lascañas after the latter flip-flopped on his previous allegations.
How would I know if he is telling the truth this time? the Senator quipped.
“We are not gonna go back to the Senate and say ‘we are gonna investigate again’ just because “foolish” Lascañas has said something and now he is saying another something.
“As far as I’m concerned, we’re done with that. If they feel that they really have evidence on the alleged Davao Death Squad, they should go to court, not the Senate," Gordon added.
I MEAN THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT HAS ALREADY SUBMITTED ITS OWN AGENDA OF BILLS, LIKE THE REVIVAL OF CAPITAL PUNISHMENT AND THOSE PERTAINING TO CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES BUT UNDER PIMENTEL, THERE DELIBERATENESS TO ACCELERATE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL LEGISLATIVE REFORMS.
HOW CAN EVERYBODY MISS ON THE FACT THAT PIMENTEL WILL NEVER MOVE A FINGER TO DEAL APPROPRIATELY WITH DE LIMA BECAUSE HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN HER LAWYER.
FUCK THIS FELLOW MINDANAOAN THINGY. PAPA D MUST IMPROVE THE SENATE BY REPLACING DOUBLEDEALING PIMENTEL WITH EITHER DICK GORDON OR ALAN PETER CAYETANO WHOSE GOOD LAWYERING CAN ENHANCE GREAT LEGISLATIVE WORK.
OTHERWISE BS AQUINO'S LACK OF GRAVITAS JUST SHIFTED FROM THE EXECUTIVE TO THE SENATE WHERE PRESENTLY MEDIOCRITY RESIDES.
